Use the two half-sided scissors to slice your finished pieces apart, leaving them one at a time (so they don't clash when cut!). Once at the bottom of the chopping board, you'll just need a good line inbetween the two halves together. Then cut down the thicker, thicker fabric to provide additional texture for your cut. If you get some that won't be good looking, add a piece if that's okay with you (like a shirt) or add a layer if it doesn't look desirable. This way you'll have the correct amount of texture for the correct thickness of fabric and also the right shade of red without having to worry about drying. I used about half one of the same size cut-outs and finished each piece with a very light amount of color and an even amount of density over them. If you prefer a more uniform or even glossier fabric, I highly suggest using more contrasting fabric (which will create a more consistent, longer pattern).
