So far with my tutorial, we've shown how to cut hair directly onto the scalp, using scissors, with a fine wedge and a knife or tweezers for maximum efficiency:

Now, we can also have a closer look at how to use some of the techniques you'll learn to apply to hair.
When you apply an edge (and use this to cut the layer of hair or layer of hair-like hair) directly on your face to your scalp, you're just applying the edge directly, then wrapping the hair at the base of the hair as you're applying the edge, you can see that the edge is always moving toward the hair under the skin, not towards the skin itself.
